Connecting with a Trainin API token
- Ask Trainin for a read-only API token for your business.
- Paste your Trainin domain and the token into the settings of the PushBeyond dashboard, while logged in. Nothing is sent by email.
- PushBeyond checks the token with Trainin before keeping it. It is stored encrypted and never shown again.
- The first sync loads your clients and their past bookings in the background. After that, PushBeyond syncs every night, re-reading the last two weeks because attendance is often saved a few days after a class.
Removing the token in the settings stops PushBeyond’s access at once.
Or through webhooks
Gyms without an API token can connect through Trainin’s webhooks instead: PushBeyond gives you a private receiving address, which you add in Trainin’s webhook settings. Keep that address private, as it works like a password for your gym’s data feed. Webhooks have to be available on your Trainin plan.
Webhooks only send what happens after they are switched on, and they carry less: many bookings never appear in them. The API token gives a much fuller picture, which is why it is the route we recommend.
What PushBeyond reads from Trainin
- Clients, with their products: memberships, class packs and when each one expires.
- Every class session, with its bookings and who was marked present or absent.
- Cancellations.
Intake forms (which can hold health information), access keys and payment details are never requested. Addresses, emergency contacts and company details are dropped before anything is stored.
Built around how Trainin gyms work
- A member counts as a member while they hold a product that has not expired. PushBeyond keeps track of every product someone holds, so buying one extra drop-in session never makes a member with a six-month pass look lapsed.
- The expiry date is what counts, not the product’s status, because a status is not always updated when a product runs out.
